Our cruise begins in Luxor with it’s famous Luxor temple, atmospheric Belle Epoque corniche, and its exotic resort atmosphere. We cruise the wonderful stretch of Nile between Luxor and Aswan after passing through the lock at Esna. Sites to visit include the Valley of the Kings and Queens, and the fabulous temple complex at Karnak The temple of Knum at Esna and Horus at Kom Ombo, as well as those of Philae & isis, together with the unfinished Obelisk and the Aswan Dam, which resulted in the creation of lake Nasser.
With so many unrivalled and world famous sights, we have included the cruise shore excursions within our package. The longer tour to the spectacular temple of Abu Simbel is an optional one.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Luxor

Flight to Luxor. You will be met on arrival and transferred to your MV Mojito. Overnight in Luxor.

Day 2

Luxor to Edfu & Esna

An early morning start to the West Bank of the Nile to visit The Valley of the Kings and Queens and the temple of Hatchepsut. In the evening we set sail to Edfu via Esna lock.

Day 3

Edfu – Kom Ombo – Aswan

Start the morning with a visit to the temple of Knum and Edfu, after which we sail to Kom Ombo to visit this famed temple dedicated to the God Horus. In the evening we set off to Aswan where we spend the night.

Day 4

Aswan

In the morning we visit the famous landmarks of Aswan, the high dam, Philae Temple and the unfinished obelisk still in the ground at its ancient quarry

Aswan

Today take the optional Abu Simbel excursion or spend the day at leisure with an afternoon felucca ride around the spectacular Elephantine island also known as Kitchener’s Island and its noted Botanical Gardens(entrance to which is optional).

Aswan to Luxor

The day is spent at leisure as the boat heads to Luxor via Edfu and Esna. We arrive later that evening. After dinner, enjoy the delights of a traditional on board party with a Belly Dance show.

Luxor

A morning visit to the Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple with an optional visit to the Sound and Light show at Karnak Temple after dusk

Disembarkation after breakfast and transfer to Luxor airport for your flight back to the UK.

Cruise routes may need to be varied in the event of adverse weather and operating conditions at the captains discretion, in the interests of the comfort and safety of guests. The Captain and Cruise Director will will keep you fully briefed on the daily programme.

The Weather

One of the reasons this region is so popular with visitors is the moderate to warm temperatures during this time of year. The weather during the cruise season (December to early March) is rather warm in the Red Sea (22c to 25c). Temperatures do tend to drop during the night due to the clear skies.

Our chosen vessel, the recently fully refurbished 5* deluxe MV Mojito was specifically designed and built for cruising the Nile.

It offers a full range of facilities including a swimming pool with jacuzzi and large sundecks from where you can relax and watch the breath-taking scenery as it glides gently by. All the spacious cabins have en-suite facilities and climate control, as well as entertainment systems and large windows opening to create French balconies.

There is a single sitting restaurant seating 140, as well as a comfortable lounge and bar, a deck café plus a small gym, a gift shop and a boutique on board.
