This unique cruise explores a stunning area of the Adriatic coast between the historic cities of Split and Dubrovnik, with intermediate calls on the beautiful islands of Mjlet with its pristine National park, Hvar and Korcula as well as the mainland coastal resorts of Makarska and sleepy Trstenik. Dubrovnik is the highlight of this cruise and this historic UNESCO world heritage city needs no introduction. The old town inside the Medieval walls will enchant you and there is much to see in the afternoon, evening and morning you will spend here. Our cruise ends in Split, which has its own authentic old town which is well worth exploring. The coast and islands have a rich tradition in its cuisine, influenced through the ages by an eclectic range of styles and flavours, from the Venetians, as well as Ottoman and Slavic influences, with each of the islands having its own unique signature dishes and specialities.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Thursday – Split

Fly to Split. You will be met on arrival and transferred to the Peristil hotel for a 2 night stay. Croatia’s second largest city. It has some wonderful history dating back to the Palace of Diocletian, built by the eponymous Roman Emperor in the 4th Century. The remains of the Palace are well worth a visit as are the sprawling streets of the old city.

Day 2

Friday – Split

Explore Split town at leisure. Split is a beautiful coastal town in Croatia. It has a rich history and culture and is famous for its beaches, like the most famous Bacvice Beach. Split is a famous tourist destination in Croatia. It is also one of the most popular destinations for shopping with many shopping opportunities and numerous shops. The city has a rich history.

Day 3

Saturday – Split – Makarska

You will be transferred from your hotel to Split port for embarkation.We cruise along the Dalmatian coast towards Makarska. Afternoon swim at one of the wonderful beaches. Optional river rafting excursion or zip line on the Cetina river. Overnight in the port of Makarska.

Day 4

Sunday – Makarska – Mljet

Early morning departure towards Mljet, with a refreshing swim stop on the Peljesac peninsula. Afternoon visit to the salt lakes in Mljet national Park (entrance fee to be paid on the spot, 25EUR) to enjoy the sun sea and tranquility of your surroundings. Once inside the National park, you may visit the monastery and church on St Mary isle or rent a bike (optional) and cycle around the lakes. Overnight in port.

Day 5

Monday – Mljet – Dubrovnik

Morning departure to Dubrovnik, arriving in the afternoon. Explore the city on your own or join a guided tour, followed by an optional cable car ride up to Srd Mountain for spectacular views of the old town. Overnight in the port of this magical town.

Day 6

Tuesday – Dubrovnik – Sipan/Trstenik

Morning is free to explore Dubrovnik, with it’s many narrow streets, monuments and churches.Early afternoon we continue our cruise towards Sipan isle or the small town of Trstenik, where we will swim in the afternoon, and spend the night. Possible visit to a local winery.

Meals included: Breakfast, lunch & Captain’s dinner

Day 7

Wednesday – Sipan/Trstenik – Korcula

After breakfast we depart for the island of Korcula, the birthplace of famous explorer Marco Polo. Afternoon arrival in Korcula. Optional sightseeing of Korcula and wine tasting at a local winery. Overnight in the port of Korcula.

Day 8

Thursday  – Korcula – Hvar

Early departure towards the Pakleni islands for lunch and a swim stop. Optional afternoon sightseeing of Hvar, which is the longest island in the Adriatic. Hvar has much to offer in entertainment, excellent restaurants, bars and cafes. Overnight in Hvar.

Day 9

Friday – Hvar – Brac – Split

Our next stop is Brac island. Swimming is planned at the most famous beach in Dalmatia – Zlatni Rat near Bol. After lunch we start our journey back to Split, making a swim stop along the way in one of the many bays on Brac island. Possibility to join a guided tour of Split with its abundance of Roman architecture. Overnight in Split.

Saturday – Split

Disembarkation after breakfast at 9am and transfer to Split airport for your return flight to the UK.

The Weather

Temperatures range from the mid 20s in early and late season to the low 30s plus, in late June through September. Winds are usually predictable, moderate and occasionally fresh (force 2-5) in the afternoon.

Your cruise is operated on one of the vessels shown or one of the same category from Katarina Line fleet, being almost identical in size, amenities and services. For the name of the vessel please check at the time of booking.

Spalato is a classic Croatian coastal Premium class cruise ship; 36 metres long and with 19 cabins, she can access the smallest ports on the Dalmatian Coastline. Spalato, launched in 2012 and refurbished recently, has a huge sun deck, air conditioned lounge and dining area and a large outdoor lounge to the rear.

Spalato is equipped with a swim platform, with ladders that drop into the sea for ease of acsess.

You can spend your mornings reading on the sun deck or lounge – taking in the fantastic views as the Croatian coastline slips by – and enjoying a daily swim stop in a secluded bay somehere en route.
